Job Title:  Electrical Estimator – Commercial & Industrial Construction Projects

Full-Time | On-Site

Job Summary

The Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical construction projects.

This role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, labor requirements, material costs, and project risks to develop comprehensive estimates and proposals.

The Electrical Estimator works closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to ensure project budgets are accurate and aligned with project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Cost Analysis

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical construction projects based on project drawings, specifications, and scope requirements

  • Perform quantity takeoffs and calculate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs

  • Analyze project risks and identify opportunities for cost savings and

value engineering

  • Develop and maintain accurate pricing databases and estimating records

Project Evaluation

  • Review blueprintstechnical drawings, and contract documents to determine project scope and requirements

  • Conduct site visits when necessary to assess existing conditions and project challenges

  • Evaluate project schedules and resource requirements to support accurate budgeting

Bid Preparation & Proposal Development

  • Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals within established deadlines

  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations

  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing information

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with project managersengineers, and field personnel to ensure estimate accuracy

  • Participate in pre-bid meetingsproject reviews, and

planning discussions

  • Communicate project assumptions, risks, and cost considerations to stakeholders

Cost Control & Project Support

  • Assist with budget development and

project cost forecasting

  • Monitor project costs and support change order pricing when necessary

  • Maintain documentation related to estimates, bids, and project costs

Required Qualifications

Education

Experience

  • Previous experience in electrical estimatingelectrical construction, or a related field (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systemsinstallation methods, and

construction practices

  • Understanding of estimating principlescost analysis, and

budgeting techniques

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprintsspecifications, and

technical documents

  • Proficiency with estimating softwarespreadsheets, and

project management tools

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills

  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electrical takeoff and

estimating software

  • Knowledge of localstate, and national electrical codes and regulations

  • Relevant industry certifications or professional credentials

Work Environment

  • Setting:  Office-based environment with occasional site visits as required

  • Schedule:  Full-time position

  • Collaboration:  Work with project teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors
