Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Preconstruction Manager / Estimator to develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects. This role requires strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication with internal teams and external stakeholders. The position plays a key role in ensuring projects are financially feasible and aligned with budget expectations.
The ideal candidate will bring experience in construction estimating, proficiency with industry software, and the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and project managers.

Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Bidding
Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation
Prepare detailed cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services
Utilize estimating software and tools to analyze and compile project data
Develop and submit bid proposals and tender documentation
Subcontractor & Supplier Coordination
Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing
Negotiate and validate quotes to ensure accuracy and completeness
Collaboration & Communication
Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements
Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits as needed
Cost Monitoring & Revisions
Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase to ensure alignment with initial estimates
Revise estimates based on design changes, scope modifications, or unforeseen conditions
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare reports on cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts
Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and related documentation
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
Experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating or a similar role
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical and numerical skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in estimating software/tools (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, HCSS, ProEst, or similar)
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications (Optional – Can Be Added)
Experience with commercial, multifamily, or industrial construction
Familiarity with design-build or hard bid delivery methods
Knowledge of construction accounting principles
Experience with takeoff software and digital blueprints
