Job Title: Estimator (Commercial Construction)

JOB OVERVIEW :
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join our growing team.
In this role, you will lead cost estimation and bid management for a range of commercial projects, including core & shell and interior construction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Prepare detailed cost estimates and conceptual budgets during pre-construction, schematic, and design development phases
Perform quantity take-offs across all construction trades
Manage end-to-end bidding process: prepare bid packages, solicit and coordinate with subcontractors
Review and evaluate subcontractor bids for completeness, accuracy, and scope gaps
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors
Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, clients, and internal project teams
Prepare scope of work documentation by trade and CSI division
Coordinate procurement schedules and deliverables with field teams
Lead or participate in subcontractor meetings and project strategy sessions
Conduct on-site visits and job walk-throughs as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of experience in construction estimating and budgeting
Proven experience with commercial construction projects (core & shell and interiors)
Strong knowledge of bid preparation and trade-level cost breakdowns
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
Comfortable managing multiple projects with competing deadlines
Strong communication and presentation skills
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project)
Experience with estimating and takeoff software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, Bluebeam)
Familiarity with construction management or accounting software (e.g., Sage/Timberline, Procore, Viewpoint)
Working knowledge of value engineering principles
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with retail construction projects
Knowledge of regional subcontractor networks in [Insert Region]
Proven ability to lead meetings and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
