Job Title: Insurance Follow-Up Representative – Medical Billing & Revenue Cycle

Employment Type: Full-Time

Work Mode: On-site / Hybrid Optional

Schedule: Monday through Friday

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Follow-Up Representative to manage insurance account follow-ups, resolve outstanding balances, and support the billing process. The ideal candidate will work with insurance companies, patients, and internal teams to ensure accurate account processing, payment reconciliation, and timely claim resolution.

Key Responsibilities

Insurance Follow-Up

Obtain and verify patient insurance information

Follow up on outstanding insurance claims and account balances

Review and process insurance correspondence and account documentation

Reconciliation & Documentation

Reconcile account information between billing systems and client records

Ensure accurate posting of payments, adjustments, and account updates

Maintain detailed account notes and documentation for future reference

Communication & Customer Service

Contact insurance companies and patients to gather required information and resolve issues

Handle incoming calls and provide quality customer service

Monitor accounts and follow established procedures to ensure timely resolution

Compliance

Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with HIPAA regulations

Generate, review, and communicate reports as required

Required Qualifications

Previous experience in insurance follow-up, medical billing, or healthcare revenue cycle management (preferred)

Strong computer proficiency and ability to learn multiple systems and databases

Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

High attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to work independently and within a team environment

Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare compliance regulations

Preferred Skills

Experience handling insurance claims and payment follow-ups

Knowledge of healthcare billing and collections processes

Customer service and phone communication skills

Ability to resolve patient and insurance-related issues effectively
