We are seeking a mid-level Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of switchgear and power distribution systems. This role focuses on mechanical design, electrical-mechanical integration, and coordination of complex layouts for low- and medium-voltage equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong CAD skills, experience working with electrical schematics, and the ability to create manufacturable designs in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
Mechanical Design & Integration
Develop mechanical and electrical-integrated designs for switchgear, power distribution systems, and control enclosures
Create accurate 3D CAD models based on electrical schematics and design requirements
Ensure proper bus bar alignment, phase spacing, and enclosure clearances
Coordinate electrical layouts with mechanical designs for feasibility and accuracy
Design Conflict Resolution
Identify and resolve design conflicts between components (e.g., bus bars, breakers, wiring, enclosures)
Manufacturability & Documentation
Evaluate designs for manufacturability, installation, serviceability, and maintenance access
Produce detailed, production-ready mechanical drawings
Support design revisions based on manufacturing feedback and field conditions
Collaboration
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, controls, manufacturing, and field service
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
3–6 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience
Experience with switchgear, power systems, or electrical enclosure design
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and assembly design
Ability to interpret electrical schematics and system layouts
Solid understanding of dimensions, tolerances, and mechanical fit
Experience working with sheet metal and enclosure-based designs
Strong communication and multitasking skills
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with low- or medium-voltage switchgear standards (e.g., NFPA, IEEE, NEC)
Experience with bus bar systems and power equipment layouts
Hands-on experience with EPLAN or similar design tools
Experience with CAD platforms such as SolidWorks, Solid Edge, or AutoCAD
Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite or similar)
