Position Overview
We are seeking a Patent Attorney to join a growing Intellectual Property practice.
This role is ideal for an attorney with experience in patent preparation and prosecution who possesses a strong technical background in engineering, physics, computer science, or related disciplines.
The successful candidate will work closely with inventors, technical professionals, and clients to protect intellectual property assets through patent drafting, prosecution, analysis, and strategic IP counseling.
Key Responsibilities
Patent Preparation & Prosecution

Draft and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications
-
Prepare responses to patent office actions and manage examiner interviews

Develop strategies to secure and strengthen patent protection for clients
Intellectual Property Analysis
- Conduct patentability, freedom-to-operate (FTO) , validity, and
infringement analyses
- Perform prior art searches and evaluate patent landscapes
Technical & Legal Research
-
Research patent law developments, industry trends, and emerging technologies

Analyze complex technical innovations and translate them into effective patent applications
Client Interaction & Collaboration
-
Communicate with inventors, engineers, in-house counsel, and international associates
-
Participate in client meetings and provide intellectual property guidance
Business Development
- Support client development initiatives and contribute to the growth of the intellectual property practice
Required Qualifications
Education
-
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school (required)

Bachelor's Degree or higher in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Physics
- Computer Science
Licensure & Certifications
- Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (required)
Experience
-
1–4 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution (required)

Patent Agent experience may be considered for candidates transitioning into attorney roles
