Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Process Mechanical Estimator to lead the development of accurate and competitive cost estimates for industrialwater, and wastewater infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in process mechanical estimating, strong knowledge of treatment plant systems, and the ability to manage bid activities from project review through award and turnover.

This role requires expertise in estimating process pipingmechanical equipmentlabormaterials, and subcontractor costs for complex infrastructure and heavy civil construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Bid Preparation

  • Develop detailed and competitive cost estimates for industrial, water, and wastewater construction projects

  • Lead bid preparation activities and coordinate estimating efforts with project teams

  • Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine project scope and requirements

Process Mechanical Estimating

  • Quantify labor, materials, and equipment required for process mechanical systems

  • Estimate piping systems including ductile iron, PVC, CPVC, stainless steel piping, and associated fittings

  • Prepare cost estimates for pumpsblowerschemical feed systems, and other treatment plant equipment

Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination

  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and

supplier quotations

  • Perform scope comparisons and ensure bid completeness

Project Planning & Support

  • Develop preliminary schedules and estimate timelines

  • Participate in estimate reviews and

bid strategy discussions

  • Support project turnover, procurement, and buyout activities

Site Visits & Cost Analysis

  • Conduct jobsite visits to understand project conditions and execution requirements

  • Analyze project risks and identify opportunities for cost optimization

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in EngineeringConstruction ManagementMechanical EngineeringCivil Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred)

Experience

  • 7–10 years of process mechanical estimating experience in water, wastewater, industrial, or heavy civil construction projects (required)

  • Proven experience performing self-perform process mechanical bid estimating (required)

  • Experience estimating treatment plantspump stationspiping systems, and process equipment (required)

digital construction technologies
