Key Responsibilities
Medical Records & Document Management
Review and analyze medical records; prepare detailed medical chronologies
Organize and manage case documents, including spreadsheets and document systems
Coordinate document collection, review, and production for discovery requests
Court Filings & Case Support
File legal documents with courts, including electronic filings
Summarize case information and prepare reports for attorneys
Act as a liaison between attorneys, courts, and other parties for scheduling and communication
Trial & Discovery Support
Assist in legal research and fact investigation
Support trial preparation, including exhibits, witness binders, and deposition materials
Coordinate large-scale document processing tasks
Additional Duties
Perform additional duties as required
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in a law firm
Strong understanding of legal terminology and the U.S. legal system
Experience with medical records review and organization
Proficiency in electronic court filing systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in medical malpractice or professional liability cases
Familiarity with document management systems (e.g., iManage)
Experience with file-sharing platforms (e.g., ShareFile)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
Ability to quickly learn new tools and systems
Education Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certification from an accredited program (preferred)
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
