A manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with established quality management systems (QMS). Key Responsibilities
Quality Engineering & Tools
Develop and implement quality engineering tools such as SPC, AQL, and CpK
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, and rework
Apply statistical and quality tools (FMEA, Gage R&R, process mapping, regression analysis, capability analysis)
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, engineering, and inspection
Support material review processes for non-conforming products
Evaluate and disposition non-conforming materials while ensuring compliance
Leadership & Mentoring
Lead and mentor teams on quality standards and best practices
Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
Auditing & Compliance
Conduct internal and external quality audits
Review contracts to identify quality requirements
Develop and maintain APQP/PPAP documentation
Customer & Supplier Management
Manage customer complaints, RMAs, and CAPA processes
Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of inspection and testing equipment
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and auditors
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of quality systems and standards (e.g., ISO/QMS)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications (including GD&T)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
AS9100 or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification
Experience with PPAP and APQP processes
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods
Experience with CMM programming and measurement systems
Strong project management skills
