Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider – Associate Medical Director

Position Summary

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP), Associate Medical Director plays a key role in delivering high-quality, cost-effective healthcare services.

This position is responsible for providing both acute and chronic care, ensuring continuity of care,

and supporting clinical operations.

The APP works collaboratively with clinical staff, volunteers, and care teams while maintaining high standards in patient care, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Medical Leadership

Provide leadership in disease prevention and health promotion initiatives.
Collaborate with healthcare providers for consultation, referrals, and coordinated care.
Develop and implement clinical policies, procedures, and standing orders.
Supervise clinical support staff and care coordination roles.
Oversee volunteer healthcare services and ensure proper training and support.
Review and address abnormal lab results and ensure timely follow-up care.

2. Patient Care

Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.
Prescribe medications and manage ongoing treatment plans.
Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests.
Provide telehealth services when appropriate.
Offer medical advice via phone or other communication channels.
Educate patients and families on preventive care and treatment plans.

3. Administrative Responsibilities

Support daily clinical operations in the absence of leadership.
Assist in managing schedules, workflows, and staff coordination.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and conduct regular reviews.
Oversee equipment maintenance and supply management.

4. Additional Duties

Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies.
Stay updated with medical advancements and integrate best practices.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
Address the physical, mental, and social needs of patients.

Qualifications & Education

Valid Advanced Practice Provider license (e.g., Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Valid prescriptive authority and DEA registration.

Experience & Skills

Experience in managing acute and chronic conditions.
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Background in community or public health settings preferred.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
