Job Summary
The Assistant Professor of Nursing is responsible for teaching graduate-level nursing courses, advising students, and contributing to academic, scholarly, and institutional activities. This role includes active participation in curriculum development, accreditation processes, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Instruction
Teach graduate nursing courses (approximately 24 credits per academic year, split across two semesters)
Evaluate student learning and teaching effectiveness
Maintain regular office hours for student support
Student Advising & Mentorship
Advise and mentor up to 25 students
Assist in developing student opportunities such as internships or clinical placements
Curriculum & Program Development
Participate in curriculum development and course implementation
Contribute to accreditation and quality assurance processes
Scholarship & Professional Growth
Engage in research, scholarship, and/or professional development activities
Institutional Service
Attend and participate in departmental and institutional meetings
Participate in institutional service, committees, and governance activities
Perform additional duties as required
Qualifications & Requirements
Required Qualifications
Doctorate in Nursing or a related field (DNP, PhD, or EdD) – required
At least one graduate degree in nursing in a relevant specialization
Eligible for or holding Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
3–5 years of professional experience in nursing
Preferred Qualifications
Prior teaching experience in a nursing program
Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population
Commitment to academic scholarship and professional growth
