Are you a driven litigator with a passion for plaintiff advocacy? We are expanding our legal team and seeking a seasoned Associate Attorney to spearhead our Personal Injury and Mass Torts practice. In this role, you will manage high-stakes litigation from intake to resolution, advocating for clients who have been wronged. We are looking for a strategic legal mind who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is ready to take ownership of complex cases immediately.

Key Responsibilities

As an Associate Attorney, you will be the lead counsel on your assigned cases, navigating the full lifecycle of litigation.

  • Case Management:  Independently manage a caseload of personal injury and mass tort claims, overseeing all phases from pre-litigation intake through trial or settlement.

  • Litigation & Drafting:  Draft precise legal documents including complaints, pleadings, motions (demurrers, motions to compel), discovery requests/responses, and compelling settlement demands.

  • Courtroom & Advocacy:  Represent clients aggressively in depositions, mediations, settlement conferences, and court appearances.

  • Legal Strategy:  Collaborate with partners and paralegals to develop winning case strategies; analyze medical records, liability, and damages to build strong arguments.

  • Client Relations:  Serve as the primary point of contact, maintaining compassionate and professional communication with clients, opposing counsel, insurance carriers, and expert witnesses.

  • Compliance & Mentorship:  Ensure strict adherence to court deadlines and filing protocols; provide guidance to paralegals and legal support staff.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess a strong work ethic and a deep understanding of California civil procedure.

  • Education:  Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Licensure:  Active membership in the California State Bar (good standing required).

  • Experience:  5–6 years of proven experience in personal injury litigation.

  • Specialization:  Prior Mass Tort experience is highly preferred.

  • Skills:

    • Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
    • Strong negotiation and oral advocacy abilities.
    • Proficiency in handling discovery, depositions, and mediations.
