Job Title:  Automation Engineer – Industrial Controls & PLC Programming

Employment Type:  Full-Time

Work Mode:  On-site / Manufacturing & Industrial Environment

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Engineer to design, develop, and manage industrial automation projects from concept through completion.

The ideal candidate will work on improving manufacturing products and processes while ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

This role requires strong technical expertise in automation systems, PLC programming, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Automation Design & Development

  • Design, develop, debug, and support industrial automation and process control systems

  • Create automation strategies, master plans, and software configurations

  • Program and troubleshoot PLC systems and multiple-station automation controls

Electrical & Control Systems

  • Design electrical logic systems for sequence, timing, and machine control operations

  • Prepare electrical diagrams, cable connection drawings, and interface circuitry designs

Testing & Quality

  • Develop quality testing procedures and design verification processes

Collaboration & Compliance

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, controls, and software engineering

  • Participate in brainstorming, design reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Assist with equipment testing, material studies, and automation validation activities

  • Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and engineering documentation practices

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related Engineering field

  • 3+ years of experience in

industrial automation or manufacturing engineering

  • Experience with PLC programming and

industrial control systems

  • Knowledge of

automation technologies, electrical systems, and troubleshooting techniques

  • Strong understanding of

electrical design standards and code compliance

  • Experience with process improvement and

root cause analysis

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Strong

analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and within a

collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with major PLC platforms such as

Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or B&R

  • Knowledge of

electromechanical automation systems

  • Experience with machine shop environments including welding, milling, turning, or sheet metal fabrication

  • Familiarity with 3D CAD software such as

Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and industrial environment with moving mechanical equipment

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs may be required

  • Exposure to moderate noise levels in a production setting
