Job Title: Biomedical Equipment Technician
Job Overview
The Biomedical Equipment Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and calibrating a wide range of medical equipment to ensure safe, accurate, and reliable operation.
This role involves hands-on technical work, troubleshooting complex issues, and supporting healthcare operations through high-quality equipment performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment Maintenance & Repair

Perform preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing on medical equipment.

Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate biomedical devices.

Service equipment such as autoclaves, anesthesia machines, centrifuges, infusion pumps, and patient monitors.
2. Technical Troubleshooting

Diagnose equipment malfunctions at system and component levels.

Perform repairs using schematics and technical documentation.
3. Documentation & Compliance

Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.

Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
4. Inventory & Resource Management

Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment.

Ensure availability of required materials for maintenance tasks.
5. Customer Support & Communication

Provide technical assistance and support to users.

Train staff on proper equipment operation and maintenance.
6. Operations & Field Support

Manage assigned tasks and timelines efficiently.

Travel to service locations as required.
Qualifications
Education & Training
- Associate’s degree or certification in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or a related field preferred.
Experience & Skills

Experience in maintenance and repair of biomedical equipment preferred.

Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and manuals.

Strong troubleshooting skills at component and system levels.

Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Additional Requirements

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Physical ability to lift and move equipment (up to approximately 75 lbs).
Work Schedule
- Full-time position, typically Monday to Friday.
