Job Title: Calibration Lab Manager

Job Overview

The Calibration Lab Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a calibration laboratory, ensuring that all measurement instruments are calibrated accurately and in compliance with established standards and regulations.

This role involves managing a team, maintaining quality systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting both internal and external stakeholders with calibration-related needs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Laboratory Operations Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the calibration laboratory.

  • Schedule calibration activities and ensure efficient workflow.

  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper functioning.

2. Calibration & Technical Oversight

  • Supervise and perform calibration of various instruments (e.g., electrical, temperature, pressure, flow, dimensional, humidity).

  • Develop and implement calibration procedures and standards.

  • Review calibration data and address out-of-tolerance results.

3. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor calibration technicians and support staff.

  • Provide training and performance management.

4. Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO 17025, quality management systems).

  • Maintain accurate documentation, traceability, and audit readiness.

  • Implement and monitor quality control processes.

5. Stakeholder Communication

  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Provide technical guidance on calibration requirements and best practices.

Qualifications

Education & Training

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in calibration or related field.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of calibration principles and measurement systems.

  • Familiarity with ISO 17025, quality management systems (QMS), and relevant regulatory standards.

  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Strong analytical and technical troubleshooting abilities.

Work Environment

  • Laboratory setting with standard working hours, with occasional extended hours or weekend work.
