Job Title: Construction Estimator – Preconstruction (Commercial Construction)

Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Construction Estimator to join our preconstruction team and play a key role in shaping commercial projects from early concept through contract award. In this role, you won’t just build estimates—you’ll help drive project strategy, identify risks, and collaborate directly with owners, architects, and internal teams to bring projects to life.

Key Responsibilities
Develop conceptual, schematic, design-build, and lump sum estimates for commercial construction projects
Partner with owners, architects, and internal teams to define project scope and budgets
Review drawings and specifications to identify risks, gaps, and constructability issues early
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and bid packages
Develop bidder lists, solicit subcontractor and vendor proposals, and perform bid leveling
Lead pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project evaluations
Coordinate with operations and business development on project strategy and planning
Maintain cost databases, historical data, and estimating tools for continuous improvement
Support value engineering and alternative solution development
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating or preconstruction
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost drivers
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet tight deadlines
Technical Skills
Proficiency with the following tools (or equivalent):
Sage (Timberline) Estimating
PlanSwift
Procore
Bluebeam
Microsoft Project (or similar scheduling tools)
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience with preconstruction services and bidding processes
Knowledge of scope development and subcontractor evaluation
Experience with pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) projects – a plus
Additional Requirements
Valid driver’s license
Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
