The company is seeking an experienced Traveling Construction Superintendent to join its field operations team and oversee construction activities across multiple project locations.
Position Overview
The Traveling Construction Superintendent will be responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of construction site operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and quality standards.
This position will serve as a key leader in the field, coordinating subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, deliveries, inspections, and site activities while maintaining close communication with the Project Manager and senior leadership.
The ideal candidate is an experienced commercial construction professional who can confidently manage active job sites, solve field issues, maintain project schedules, and lead subcontractors and field teams.
Key Responsibilities

Manage daily construction activities and overall field operations on assigned projects.

Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.

Ensure work is performed according to approved plans, specifications, schedules, and quality standards.

Conduct daily site meetings and communicate project progress, priorities, and potential issues.

Coordinate with Project Managers, subcontractors, clients, inspectors, and other project stakeholders.
-
Monitor project schedules and proactively address delays or scheduling conflicts.
-
Assist with maintaining project schedules and updating timelines as project conditions change.
-
Enforce company safety policies, project safety requirements, and applicable OSHA standards.

Conduct and/or participate in safety meetings, inspections, and job-site safety activities.
-
Review project plans, drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
-
Identify potential construction issues, delays, conflicts, and risks before they impact the project.
-
Develop practical solutions to field problems and coordinate corrective actions.

Monitor workmanship and ensure construction activities meet established quality standards.

Review daily reports, logs, delivery tickets, time sheets, and other field documentation.

Coordinate material deliveries and ensure materials are available when required.
-
Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and professional job site.

Coordinate inspections and support project closeout activities.
-
Maintain consistent communication with the Project Manager and senior management regarding project status.
-
Ensure subcontractors and field personnel remain aligned with project requirements and schedule expectations.
Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of construction field supervision experience.
-
Proven experience working as a Construction Superintendent, Site Superintendent, General Superintendent, or similar field leadership role.

Commercial or industrial construction experience required.
-
Experience with light industrial, big-box retail, medical, office, or similar commercial construction is highly preferred.

Strong understanding of construction methods, building systems, and field operations.
-
Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP, and other construction drawings and documents.
-
Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and OSHA requirements.
-
Excellent leadership and subcontractor management skills.
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
-
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
-
Proficiency with construction scheduling and project management software.
-
Experience with platforms such as Procore and/or Microsoft Project is preferred.
-
OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred or required based on project requirements.
Education & Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Minimum 5 years of construction supervision/field experience.

Travel Requirements
This is a traveling position. The selected candidate must be willing and able to travel to assigned project locations based on business and project requirements.
Travel expectations may vary depending on project location, duration, and schedule.
Candidates should be comfortable working away from their home location for extended project assignments when required.
