Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to lead accounting operations within a fast-paced e-commerce environment. This role requires managing high-volume financial transactions, driving process improvements, and utilizing ERP systems like NetSuite to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership capabilities, hands-on accounting experience, and the ability to scale processes in a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger
Handle high-volume transactional accounting and perform account reconciliations
Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
Optimize ERP systems (NetSuite), including workflows, automation, and reporting
Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team
Ensure compliance with multi-state sales tax regulations
Support internal and external audits and financial reviews
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement scalable solutions
Collaborate with senior leadership to support financial planning and business growth
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA preferred
Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Experience in a Controller or Assistant Controller role preferred
Strong hands-on experience with NetSuite (required)
Experience working in high-volume, transaction-driven environments
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in e-commerce, retail, or distribution industries
Familiarity with high-SKU product environments
Experience with sales tax automation tools (e.g., Avalara or similar)
Knowledge of process automation and system optimization
Interest or experience in leveraging AI tools to improve accounting operations
