Job Title:  Design / Project Engineer – Mechanical Product Development & Manufacturing

Job Type:  Full-Time | On-Site

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Design / Project Engineer to lead engineering design projects from concept through production.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for product design, project management, customer collaboration, manufacturing feasibility analysis, and engineering validation activities.

This role requires strong CAD expertise, mechanical design knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Product Design & Development

  • Create product designs based on customer and internal requirements using CAD models, engineering drawings, specifications, and validation criteria

  • Develop new product concepts, materials, and manufacturing methods to expand product offerings

  • Conduct engineering analyses related to formfitfunctiontolerance stack-ups, and product performance

  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to product designs

  • Review designs for compliance with engineering standards, customer requirements, and manufacturing capabilities

Project Management

  • Manage engineering projects from concept development through

production implementation

  • Coordinate prototypingtooling developmentproduct validation, and

launch activities

  • Track project schedules, milestones, budgets, and deliverables

  • Prepare project status reports and communicate progress to management and stakeholders

Customer & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work directly with customers and internal teams to exchange technical information, design concepts, and engineering solutions

  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, tooling, and production teams to ensure successful product launches

Engineering Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including:

    • Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
    • Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R)
    • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) documentation
  • Ensure compliance with quality management systems and applicable industry standards

Required Qualifications

Education:

Experience:

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD software (required)

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and engineering problem-solving skills

  • Experience with component design and

product development

  • Strong understanding of GD&T principles and engineering drawing interpretation

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with metal stamping and plastic injection molding processes

  • Knowledge of

Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

  • Understanding of kinematics and

mechanical system design

  • Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM)

  • Familiarity with APQP processes and

quality management systems

  • Experience supporting automotive or

industrial manufacturing projects
