Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer
-
PE to lead mechanical design and construction projects with a strong focus on piping systems, fluid transfer, pumping systems, and mechanical utilities.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Manage multiple mechanical design and construction projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
-
Develop mechanical scopes of work, project plans, schedules, and cost estimates.
-
Design and review piping systems, pumps, controls, and related equipment.
-
Review engineering designs, specifications, submittals, change orders, and contractor proposals.
-
Conduct design and constructability reviews and resolve technical issues.
-
Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, vendors, operations, and project stakeholders.
-
Provide technical field oversight and support system tie-ins and construction activities.
-
Maintain project documentation, including as-built drawings and closeout documents.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
-
8+ years of experience in design and construction/project engineering.
-
Professional Engineer (PE) license registered in Tennessee required.
-
Strong experience with piping system design, pipe sizing, pump selection, and pumping system controls.
-
Experience managing multiple projects from conception through completion.
-
Experience coordinating field installations and utility/system tie-ins.
-
Strong technical documentation and project document-control skills.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience with constructability reviews and conceptual engineering.
-
Experience with site utility systems such as potable water, sanitary sewer, stormwater, steam, electrical, and mechanical utilities.
-
Experience working in research facilities, utility plants, laboratories, or other complex environments.
-
OSHA 30 Construction Safety certification preferred.
