Job Title: Medical Office Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Medical Office Assistant to support daily administrative and patient service operations in a healthcare setting.
This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a key role in ensuring smooth clinic workflows, accurate record management, and a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities

Greet and assist patients and families in a professional and friendly manner

Answer and manage high-volume phone calls and schedule appointments efficiently

Create, update, and maintain accurate patient records

Verify insurance coverage and check benefit eligibility
-
Process patient payments and perform charge entry into EMR systems

Assist with accounts receivable follow-ups and collections

Support daily clinic operations and administrative tasks

Deliver excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred

Prior experience in a medical office, healthcare administration, or billing environment preferred

Knowledge of insurance verification, medical billing, and Explanation of Benefits (EOB)

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with EMR systems (e.g., Athena, EPIC, Phreesia, or similar)

Background in orthopaedics or specialty clinics
-
Bilingual skills (Spanish preferred)
