Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Preconstruction Manager to lead project planning, estimating, and cost management activities from concept through final pricing.
This role focuses on delivering accurate estimates, ensuring alignment between design and budget, and supporting informed project decisions through structured and analytical processes.
Key Responsibilities
Preconstruction & Estimating

Lead preconstruction activities from initial concept through final pricing stages

Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates with clearly defined assumptions

Develop and maintain comprehensive preconstruction plans
Design & Cost Coordination

Collaborate with clients, design teams, and internal stakeholders throughout project development

Ensure cost estimates align with evolving design stages

Identify cost drivers and recommend value engineering solutions
Subcontractor & Bid Management

Engage subcontractors to ensure competitive and complete bid coverage

Conduct scope reviews to minimize gaps and inconsistencies

Analyze and compare bids to support accurate pricing decisions
Client Communication & Reporting

Present estimates, cost options, and recommendations clearly and professionally

Communicate assumptions, risks, and pricing strategies effectively
Team Leadership & Development

Mentor and support preconstruction and estimating team members

Promote best practices, standardized tools, and efficient workflows

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred)

7–10 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or commercial construction

Proven experience managing multiple or complex projects

Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and cost drivers

Proficiency in estimating software, digital takeoff tools, and Microsoft Office
