Are you an experienced Principal Abdominal Donor Procurement Surgeon looking for a full-time opportunity where you can focus on high-impact transplant surgery while maintaining a stable schedule? We are partnering with a premier medical organization seeking a highly skilled surgeon to perform liver retrieval procedures, donor organ assessments, and abdominal procurement surgeries in collaboration with leading transplant programs. This is a 100% onsite position in New York, NY, with no travel required, allowing you to focus entirely on delivering exceptional patient care and advancing transplant outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

Perform abdominal donor procurement surgeries and comprehensive donor organ assessments.

Conduct liver retrieval procedures and advanced abdominal surgical interventions.

Support organ preservation and instrumentation processes during procurement.

Collaborate seamlessly with transplant surgeons and multidisciplinary clinical teams.

Maintain the highest standards of surgical quality and clinical compliance.

Assist in developing procurement protocols and establishing surgical best practices.

Mentor and support junior surgical team members.

Provide accurate clinical communication and documentation via EMR systems.

Qualifications

MD or equivalent medical degree.

5+ years of experience in abdominal donor procurement and transplant surgery.

Strong hands-on experience with liver retrieval procedures and DBD/DCD donor procurements.

Ability to work independently in high-pressure surgical environments.

Skills

Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and clinical collaboration skills.

High-acuity surgical decision-making capabilities.
