Job Title: Quality Engineer – Cable Assemblies & Wire Harnesses

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support high-reliability cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and electrical connector systems used in industrial energy and data center infrastructure applications.
The ideal candidate will ensure products meet quality, reliability, environmental, and regulatory standards while supporting manufacturing operations, supplier quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This role requires close collaboration with engineering, production, supply chain, and customer support teams to improve product quality, manufacturability, and process efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
If you have 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience in cable assembly, wire harness, connector manufacturing, or electromechanical systems and strong knowledge of IPC-A-620 / WHMA-A-620 standards – we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Compliance

Support quality requirements for cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and electrical connector systems

Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications
Hands-On Quality Engineering Support
- Provide hands-on quality engineering support for:
- Soldering
- Crimping
- Overmolding
- Shielding
- Potting
- High-power terminations
Root Cause & Corrective Action
- Lead root-cause investigations for:

Internal defects
-
Supplier nonconformance
-
Customer complaints
-
Field failures
-
Drive corrective and preventive actions using methodologies such as:

5 Why Analysis

Fishbone Diagram
-
8D
-
DMAIC
Documentation & Process Development
- Develop and maintain:
- Process flows
- Control plans
- PFMEAs
- Inspection and test plans
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with production, engineering, supply chain, and customer service teams to improve product quality and manufacturability
Supplier Quality
Regulatory Compliance
Required Qualifications
Education
Experience
-
Minimum 3 years of Quality Engineering experience in:
- Cable assembly
- Wire harness
- Connector manufacturing
- Electromechanical systems

Strong knowledge of
IPC-A-620 / WHMA-A-620 standards
Technical Skills
-
Experience with:
- FMEA, PPAP, SPC, MSA, 8D, CAPA
- Root-cause analysis

Ability to interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications

Experience using inspection and testing equipment such as:
- Micrometers
- Calipers
- Pull testers
Core Competencies
- Strong
analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting
industrial energy or data center infrastructure products

Knowledge of REACH, RoHS, and Conflict Minerals compliance requirements

Familiarity with UL, ATEX, IECEx, or other safety and certification standards

Experience working with harsh-environment or ruggedized cable assemblies
