Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and oversee the delivery of high-quality patient care in a primary care setting. This role combines direct patient care with administrative and leadership responsibilities, focusing on quality improvement, compliance, staff development, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a strong leader committed to patient-centered care and improving outcomes for diverse and underserved populations.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with a minimum number of clinical sessions per week.

• Participate in on-call coverage as required.

Leadership & Management

• Supervise physician staff and provide indirect oversight of non-physician clinical staff.

• Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations of clinical team members.

• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and annual performance reviews.

Quality & Compliance

• Develop and implement continuous quality improvement programs.

• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and safety standards.

• Monitor clinical performance metrics and implement improvements where necessary.

Operations & Strategy

• Evaluate operational performance and optimize resource utilization.

• Support workflow improvements and enhance patient access to care.

• Maintain relationships with external healthcare providers and referral networks.

Patient Experience & Community Focus

• Address patient concerns, complaints, and incident investigations promptly.

• Promote patient satisfaction and high-quality care delivery.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate reporting and documentation of clinical and operational data.

• Oversee adherence to policies, procedures, and accreditation requirements.

• Manage scheduling approvals and staff availability.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).

• Board Certification in Family Medicine (required).

• Valid and unrestricted medical license (as per location requirements).

• Minimum 3+ years of leadership or managerial experience.

• Strong knowledge of primary care practices and healthcare regulations.
