Job Title: Senior Medical Director
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Medical Director to provide clinical leadership and oversee the delivery of high-quality patient care in a primary care setting. This role combines direct patient care with administrative and leadership responsibilities, focusing on quality improvement, compliance, staff development, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a strong leader committed to patient-centered care and improving outcomes for diverse and underserved populations.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care with a minimum number of clinical sessions per week.

Participate in on-call coverage as required.
Leadership & Management

Supervise physician staff and provide indirect oversight of non-physician clinical staff.

Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations of clinical team members.

Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and annual performance reviews.
Quality & Compliance
-
Develop and implement continuous quality improvement programs.

Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and safety standards.

Monitor clinical performance metrics and implement improvements where necessary.
Operations & Strategy

Evaluate operational performance and optimize resource utilization.

Support workflow improvements and enhance patient access to care.

Maintain relationships with external healthcare providers and referral networks.
Patient Experience & Community Focus

Address patient concerns, complaints, and incident investigations promptly.

Promote patient satisfaction and high-quality care delivery.
Administrative Responsibilities

Ensure accurate reporting and documentation of clinical and operational data.

Oversee adherence to policies, procedures, and accreditation requirements.

Manage scheduling approvals and staff availability.
Requirements & Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).

Board Certification in Family Medicine (required).

Valid and unrestricted medical license (as per location requirements).

Minimum 3+ years of leadership or managerial experience.

Strong knowledge of primary care practices and healthcare regulations.
