Key Responsibilities:
Perform structural analysis and design for reinforced concrete, structural steel, shallow foundations, piles/caissons, reinforced masonry, and other structural systems.
- Develop and review structural models, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Conduct structural condition assessments and provide recommendations for repair or improvement.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design systems and develop new processes or solutions.
- Identify inefficiencies in design or execution processes and implement improvements.
- Prepare sketches, layouts, and detailed plans for structural components.
- Produce preliminary and final design drawings using Autodesk software tools.
- Build and test 2D/3D models and prototypes to validate design concepts.
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, and documentation.
- Interface directly with stakeholders for design coordination and technical consultation.
- Monitor project progress and support oversight of project teams and subcontractors to ensure adherence to quality, schedule, and budget.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 2+ years of structural engineering experience.
- Willingness to pursue Professional Engineer (PE) licensure if not already obtained.
- Strong understanding of structural engineering fundamentals, including:
- Soil mechanics
- Shallow and deep foundation design (caissons, drilled piers)
- Statics and structural behavior
- Materials science
- Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) and tools such as LPILE.
- Proficiency in CAD software.
- Basic experience with engineering analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Excel, LabVIEW).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Willingness to travel up to 35%.
Preferred Qualifications:
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
- 5+ years of structural engineering experience.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while performing computer-based tasks.
- Capability to move freely in field environments, including active project sites.
