Job Type:  Full-Time | On-Site

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Project Cost Estimator to support construction project planning, budgeting, and cost analysis.

This role is ideal for an early-career construction professional with estimating experience who can prepare independent cost estimates, analyze contractor proposals, support negotiations, and assist with change orders and claims.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, knowledge of construction labor and material costs, and the ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, and project documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Estimating & Analysis

Prepare preliminary independent cost estimates for construction projects

• Develop detailed construction cost estimates based on drawings, specifications, sketches, and project requirements

• Analyze contractor proposals and compare them with independent estimates to identify discrepancies and cost-saving opportunities

• Research current labor, material, equipment, and

service costs

Change Orders & Claims Management

• Assist in preparing and evaluating

change order estimates

• Develop scopes of work based on RFIs, RFCs, and project documentation

• Independently estimate costs associated with project modifications and change requests

Contract & Negotiation Support

• Provide cost analysis and pricing support during negotiations

• Assist project teams in establishing negotiating positions based on independent estimates

Project Support

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and construction teams

• Maintain accurate estimating records and documentation

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in:
  • Construction Management
  • Engineering
  • Architecture
  • Quantity Surveying

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of professional construction estimating experience (required)

• Experience estimating facility construction, renovation, or capital improvement projects (required)

• Experience preparing and evaluating change orders (required)

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of construction labor and

material costs

• Ability to prepare independent cost estimates from plans and specifications

• Experience developing scopes of work from project documentation

• Understanding of construction methods, materials, and

estimating principles
