Job Type:  Full-Time | On-Site

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support the successful planning, coordination, execution, and closeout of water and wastewater infrastructure construction projects.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in project delivery by managing schedules, coordinating subcontractors, overseeing quality and safety compliance, supporting procurement activities, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

This position offers the opportunity to work on critical infrastructure projects that directly impact communities through the development and improvement of water resource facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Execution

• Lead daily project coordination activities to ensure smooth project execution

• Assist with site planning and construction operations

• Maintain and update project schedules while coordinating activities with subcontractors and vendors

• Monitor project progress and identify potential risks or delays

Document & Contract Management

• Manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and project correspondence

• Ensure accurate and timely document control throughout the project lifecycle

Procurement & Cost Control

• Support material procurement activities and coordinate delivery logistics

• Assist with budget development, cost tracking, invoice review, and payment applications

Quality & Safety

• Conduct field inspections and quality control reviews to ensure work complies with project specifications and standards

• Support implementation and enforcement of site safety programs and procedures

Commissioning & Closeout

• Assist with system startup, testing, commissioning, and

turnover activities

• Lead project closeout efforts, including completion of punch lists, final documentation, and turnover packages

Team Development

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, interns, and project team members

Required Qualifications

Education:

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

Licensure & Travel:

• Valid driver's license (required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with water, wastewater, or

utility infrastructure projects

• Knowledge of construction scheduling and

project controls

• Familiarity with commissioning and

startup processes

• Experience reviewing construction documents and technical specifications

Technical Skills

• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Construction Scheduling Software (Primavera P6, Oracle Primavera, or similar)

• Project Management Software

• Sage Timberline (Preferred)

• Viewpoint (Preferred)

Work Environment

• Travel:  Frequent travel to construction sites, offices, and project locations

• Hours:  Occasional overtime and overnight travel may be required

• Conditions:  Ability to work in varying weather and site conditions, including hot, cold, dusty, and noisy environments
