Job Title: Urologist

Job Overview

The Urologist is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing conditions related to the urinary tract and male reproductive system in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

This role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, performing medical and surgical procedures, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Patient Care

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for urologic conditions.

  • Diagnose and manage conditions such as kidney stones, prostate disorders, urinary incontinence, bladder conditions, erectile dysfunction, and urologic cancers.

  • Develop individualized treatment plans and provide ongoing management for chronic conditions.

  • Provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.

2. Medical Procedures & Surgeries

  • Perform procedures such as cystoscopy, prostate biopsy, stone management (e.g., ureteroscopy, lithotripsy), and laparoscopic/robotic surgeries as appropriate.

  • Discuss treatment options, including risks and benefits, with patients.

3. Collaboration & Communication

  • Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals and specialties.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and case discussions.

4. Education & Quality Improvement

  • Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and preventive care.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer review activities.

5. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records in electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Qualifications

Education & Training

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution.

  • Completion of an accredited Urology residency program.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Valid and unrestricted medical license (or eligibility).

  • DEA registration (or eligibility).

Experience & Skills

  • Strong clinical and surgical skills in urology.

  • Proficiency in both outpatient and inpatient care.

  • Excellent diagnostic, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during procedures.

  • Manual dexterity for precise instrument handling.

  • Ability to lift or assist with up to 25 lbs.
