We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join a collaborative consulting team. This role offers the opportunity to work on infrastructure and utility projects while developing technical and professional skills under the guidance of experienced professionals.
The position involves both office-based work and field investigations, with opportunities to expand into related disciplines such as engineering geology and hydrogeology.

Key Responsibilities
Site Evaluation & Analysis
Review geotechnical reports, well logs, geologic maps, and related data to evaluate site conditions and design risks
Develop geologic cross-sections and interpret hydrogeologic data
Recommend drilling locations and depths for wells and dewatering systems
Technical Specifications & Design
Prepare technical specifications for foundations, wells, and dewatering systems
Field Investigations
Conduct and document field investigations including borings and test pits
Classify soils and assess their engineering properties and suitability for construction
Collect and manage soil samples for laboratory testing
Data Analysis & Reporting
Analyze field and laboratory data
Prepare technical reports, memoranda, and recommendations
Create maps and figures using GIS and CAD tools
Travel
Travel periodically for fieldwork
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (from ABET-accredited program)
FE/EIT certification (required)
Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 1–3 years
2–10 years of relevant experience in civil or geotechnical engineering
Strong technical writing and communication skills
Experience preparing structured technical reports
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, or related field
Technical Skills
Core Proficiency
Soil classification using the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS)
Analysis of geotechnical and geological data
Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS or equivalent)
AutoCAD
Preferred Experience
Bore log preparation
Slope stability analysis
Retaining wall design
Seismic design and hazard evaluation
Supervision Responsibilities
Coordinate with contractors and subconsultants
Limited supervision of internal staff
